The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the name of the process in which adults become active participating members within the Catholic Church and are received into full communion. This process begins in late September and a series of twenty-five weekly classes concludes in the week prior to Easter. The Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism (or a Profession of Faith), Confirmation and First Eucharist are received or conferred during the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday evening.
