Music

Our Mission Statement

The Music Ministry is devoted to enhancing the Mass through songs of praise, thoughtfully sung prayers, and joy-filled music to glorify the Trinity.  We especially rejoice in the time that we spend practicing in thankfulness to God for the gift of music in our lives.  Many who join the music ministry, do it initially to offer their time and talents, but over time end up making new friends, and the parish becomes a part of their Catholic family.

About the Adult Choir

The adult choir is comprised of members of various ages, talents, and abilities. We welcome anyone who is able to match pitch accurately, with a love for singing, and a heart for God. There are NO auditions, and anyone who is interested is always welcome to drop in for rehearsals. We sing music from Chant to contemporary, from octavos to hymnals, from Bach to Rutter, and we collaborate with various solo instruments and guest artists throughout the year. Rehearsals take place Tuesday nights from 7-8:30pm in the organ/choir loft. We meet every Sunday morning at 9:30am to warm up and and sing for the 10am Mass. The choir is active from September through Pentecost.

*Students wishing to receive service hours for their school or program are able to do so by singing with the choir and contributing their time and talents to the music ministry. Contact Dr. Olga for more detailed information.

Coro Sine Nomine

Coro Sine Nomine  was established at the Kelly Hill Walker Organ dedication concert in August 2019.  This community ensemble is open to any singer in Southern California who wishes to participate in special concerts or programs throughout the year, outside of regular Mass.  Singers must have previous musical experience to join this emsemble.  The singers must attend the rehearsals leading up to the event to participate.  The choir sings at the annual Advent Lessons & Carols.
